DJ's remember Avicii amidst his anniversary

Some of Avicii's close friends and contributors have paid their public respects to the Swedish EDM pioneer, who tragically took his own life last year. Longtime friend Nicky Romero recalled the first time he was played mega-hit "Wake Me Up," stating "“He broke the barrier there and made it a hit. He educated people with something new, and that’s something I appreciate and respect a lot. I’ll never forget that moment.”

Co-worker and contributor Carnage meanwhile recalled his friends work ethic and inspirational motivation - "“What he accomplished so young motivated me to go harder and to go stronger,” he explained, reports Variety. “The relationship that we had was just true – we had some of the best times together.”


BTS become first Korean act to score a Number 1 UK album

Another record for the internationally ground breaking K-Pop group BTS. Although amongst the biggest acts of their kind in their native land, the group are the first Korean group to hit the top of the charts in the UK with their album Map of the soul: Persona. Their global rise has seen them speak at the UN, perform to sold out crowds, and capture the hearts of minds of thousands of fans the world over.


Lil Nas X tops singles charts with Old Town Road


A meme no longer, or perhaps the most lucrative men of this year. Regardless, the trap infused country swagger of Old Town Road now sits atop the pantheon, the number one single on Billboard. Legions of fans, drawn to its unique blend of the old and new and music video filmed entirely within Red Dead Redemption 2, have successfully assisted the track in breaking the streaming record for a song also, previously held by Drake.



Lewis Capaldi pledges to help fans with anxiety


Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, who recently was usurped from his spot atop the singles charts by Lil Was X, has pledged to help combat anxiety amongst his fans by supplying 'escape rooms' for those who need a moment to themselves at gigs and a buddy system for those travelling alone. Charging an extra 50p per ticket will allow for these provisions


Beyoncé drops live Cochella album while Beck announces new album on its way


Two artists, forever intertwined by the marinations of Kanye West. Beyoncé's latest sees a return to form, a steal album recording her historic live performance as the first black woman to headline Coachella that has secured rave reviews from critics. Beck mean while, announces his own return following his grammy winning previous effort. Teaming up once again with pharell, fans can expect to hear singles dropping soon.
