Stormzy has first chart No. 1 with Vossi Bop
English MC Stormzy hits a career landmark with his first ever No. 1 song on the charts. Beating out the likes of Lil Was X's 'Old Town Road' (A classic track) and Taylor Swift's return 'Me' (A classic bore), the 'Gang signs and prayers' creator has stormed to the top with his latest single Vossi Bop, which you can listen to here.
Garth Brooks calls for more diversity in country music
Country music star Garth Brooks has called for the industry too take care of and include more women in the genre. Citing the difficulties his wife faces to the BBC, Brooks states "(Trisha) works a thousand times harder than me to get a tenth as much as I do out of this business." According to the BBC, female country singers receive much less rain air time in comparison to their female counterparts, with the highest streamed male artist (Kenny Chesney) receiving double that of the highest streamed female (Carrie Underwood)
Glastonbury to pay tribute to Keith Flint
Following the tragic death of The Prodigy's Keith Flint, the group decided to pull their attendance from Glastonbury. In lieu of this, organisers have elected to pay tribute to the deceased face of the electronic super group in the Shangri-La arena. This will include performances from former bandmates, friends and the airing of a previously unreleased remix.
Tinder teams up with AEG and Live Nation to match festival goers
Tinder has teamed up with a number of live music companies to create a new mode on their app titled 'Festival Mode' wherein potential music lovers can match on the fly at any of the participating venues. They are as follows:

Spotify hits 100 million paid subscribers
Online streaming giant Spotify continues to roll. Not long after posting its first year of net positive profits, the music service announces that it has hit the 100 million mark as regards to those paying for premium.
