Nipsey Hussle's accused killer without counsel
Eric Holder, the man who stands accused of killing community activist and rapper Nipsey Hussle, find himself without legal counsel following his lawyers decision to step down from the case.
Christopher Darden, a long time member of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, has hit out at those who have sent threats to both him and his family following his decision to represent Holder. A prominent figure on the trial of O.J. Simpson, Darden hit out at the "cowards" who issued him anonymous threats - "These days these cowards don't send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man's mother and children."
Report shows that venues are "Failing" musicians with disabilities
A report summarising the finings of a survey conducted by musical company Attitude Is Everything reports that nearly two-thirds of deaf or disabled musicians have had to compromise on their health and well being to support themselves. Ruth Patterson, of the band 'Holy Moly and the Crackers' claimed one venue labelled her as a "fire hazard" because of her wheel chair, while DJ Laura Jones claims that requests to alleviate her visual impairments are often ignored.
Writing for the BBC, journalist Mark Savage revealed the steps taken to help alleviate these problems and make music more inclusive:
"In response to such issues, Attitude Is Everything launched Next Stage - an initiative aimed at promoting greater inclusivity for artists in the music industry - last December.
The Arts Council-funded scheme aims to gain a greater understanding of the challenges facing disabled artists - and take steps to remove those barriers.
