This weeks industry news:

The Mighty Boosh named Record Store Day Ambassadors

Following in the footstep of Dave Grohl, Elton John, St Vincent, Comedy two piece dust off the cob webs and re-emerge as a duo as ambassadors for record store day. Known for their surrealist humour and memorable characters (the terrifying Ol' Greg for instance), comedian Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt have reunited for the first time in half a decade to represent independent record stores. To celebrate the occasion, the comedy group are committing the entire Mighty Boosh radio series to vinyl for the first time.

Drowned In Sound to cease publication

Founder and editor of UK based music publication 'Drowned In Sound' Sean Adams wrote on a facebook post that the site will cease operations after nearly twenty years. Adams was adamant that the sites forum would remain open, allowing the community to retain its existence and continue to share new music. Founded in 2000, the site was one of the most visible faces in online music reviews, features and a constant champion of underground artists. Harley Brown of Billboard.com also reported that Adams added, "I'm going to take make a few changes and take some time to get things stable again financially, and then attempt to do some special activity as we enter our 20th year next year."

Game Of Thrones inspired album on its way

Taking its lead from the Kendrick Lamar curated Black Panther inspired album (fantastic album btw), HBO is releasing a Game Of Thrones inspired album on April 26th. Featuring a number of high profile artists (is there anything more 2019 than A$AP Rocky and Matt Bellamy appearing on the same album) 'For The Throne' will accompany the final season of the show. Two songs from the album are already available to stream.

New Dublin live venue Lost Lane to open

Opening on the site of the old Lillies Bordello site, Dublins newest live music venue Lost Lane opened its doors officially on friday night. The new 280 capacity venue is set to emerge as one of the cities most prevalent night life spots. Sate of the arts sound systems and lighting rigs, as well as bookings for some of the biggest names in the country, are sure to help establish Lost Lane in the hearts and minds of the Irish people.

FONTAINES D.C. debut album released

Dublin guitar music continues its stratospheric rise. Joyce inspired punks FONTAINES D.C. released their debut album 'Dogrel' to critical reception. Reviewers have lauded the album, with Q Magazine calling it "an album to fall in love with." The most visible face to emerge from the potent southern scene, look out for our own review on the site later this month.

(Stability is a better album though)
